Speed Limits Changed On Nine Roads In Ridgefield

Several changes have been made to the speed limits on a total of nine roads in Ridgefield, according to the Ridgefield Police Department.

These speed limits went into effect between Thursday, May 30 and Friday, May 31 and are in line with the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Office of the State Traffic Administration approved town road speed limits.

The following town roads and/or portions of town roads have been altered:

  • 1. Lafayette Ave – Washington Street to Copps Hill Road (changed to 20 mph)
  • 2. Pelham Lane – Wilton line to Nod Hill Road (changed to 15 mph)
  • 3. Rochambeau Avenue – Copps Hill Road – Washington Street (changed to 20 mph)
  • 4. Washington Street – Rochambeau to Lafayette (changed to 20 mph)
  • 5. George Washington Highway, entire length (changed to 30 mph)
  • 6. Farmingville Road – Route 35 to Limekiln (changed to 30 mph)
  • 7. North Street – Route 116 to Wooster Street (changed to 30 mph)
  • 8. Regan Road, entire length (changed to 30 mph)
  • 9. Old Sib Road – NY line to Rock Rd (changed to 20 mph)

These areas previously had posted speed limits of 25 mph, police say.
